Indications for use

  • For children:
    • with fluid restrictions or volume sensitivity;
    • who may benefit from dietary fibre;
    • requiring short- or long-term tube feeding;
    • with increased nutrient needs;
    • with or at risk for malnutrition;
    • with failure to thrive.
  • For oral or tube feeding use.
  • Can be used as a supplement or as a sole source of nutrition.

Safety precautions:

  • Not for parenteral use.
  • Not for children with galactosemia.
  • For children under 1 year of age, consult a physician or qualified health care professional prior to using PediaSure® Plus (with fibre).

Preparation

Instructions:

Use under medical supervision.

Use by date on end of can.

Oral feeding:

  • May be used for total or supplemental nutrition.
  • May be fed at room temperature or chilled.
  • Serving PediaSure® chilled enhances its flavour.

Tube feeding:

  • Adjust flow rate and volume according to patient’s condition and tolerance.
  • Feed at room temperature.
  • Additional fluid requirements should be met by giving water between or after feedings or when flushing the tube.
  • Care should be taken to avoid contamination of this product during preparation and administration.

NOT FOR IV USE.

Not for children under the age of 1 unless specified by a health care professional.

Storage:

  • Store unopened at room temperature.
  • Shake well and clean top of can thoroughly before opening.
  • Once opened, store covered in refrigerator and use within 48 hours.

Features and Benefits

  • Increased nutrient density provides more calories in less volume: 118 more calories per serving than PediaSure®.
  • Provides 1.76 g of dietary fibre per 235 mL.
  • Contains 0.82 g of short-chain fructooligosaccharides (scFOS) per 235-mL serving.
  • Fortified with taurine and carnitine to help prevent deficiencies associated with long-term tube feeding.1-3
  • 19.6% of fat as medium chain triglycerides, an easily digested and well-absorbed fat source.4
  • Provides 27 vitamins and minerals.
