Your baby’s health depends on carefully following these directions. Proper hygiene, preparation, mixing and storage are important when using infant formula. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Ask your health care professional if you need to use cooled, boiled water for mixing and if you need to boil (sterilize) bottles, nipples and rings before use. Wash your hands, surfaces and utensils before preparing infant formula.
To make a 20 Cal/30 mL (68 Cal/100 mL) formula:
Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard
For 54 g of carbohydrate, add one of the following:
• Table sugar (sucrose) 60 mL (4 level Tbsp)
• Fructose powder 60 mL (4 level Tbsp)
• Dextrose powder (hydrous) 90 mL (6 level Tbsp)
Storage: Cover prepared formula and opened cans and refrigerate immediately; use within 48 hours. Store unopened cans at room temperature; avoid extreme temperatures
