SIMILAC® ISOMIL®

Soy protein-based formula with DHA

For term infants 0+ months of age. For use as a breast milk substitute in infants who are not exclusively breastfed. For infants who cannot consume dairy-based products for health, cultural, or religious reasons.1 For infants with a diagnosed IgE-mediated cow’s milk allergy where tolerance to soy has been established.1,2 For infants with congenital lactase deficiency.1 For infants with galactosemia.1 For oral or tube feeding use.

PRECAUTIONS
  • Never use a microwave oven to warm formula; serious burns can result. Test temperature before feeding to avoid scalding the baby’s mouth.

  • Powdered infant formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to preterm, low-birth-weight, or immunocompromised infants unless directed and supervised by a health care professional.

Preparation

Directions for Use:

Your baby’s health depends on carefully following these directions. Proper hygiene, preparation, mixing and storage are important when using infant formula. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Use as directed by your health care professional.

  1. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  2. Sterilize equipment and water.
    1. Place washed bottles, nipples, rings, caps and all preparation equipment in boiling water and keep at a rolling boil for 2 minutes.
    2. In another pot, boil water at a rolling boil for 2 minutes. Cool to room temperature prior to mixing.
  3. Prepare formula.
    1. Pour desired amount of boiled, cooled water into bottle.
    2. Using enclosed scoop, add 1 unpacked level scoop of powder to each 60 mL of water. Return dry scoop to container.
  4. Cap bottle; shake well; attach nipple. Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.
  • Once mixed, refrigerate bottles immediately; use within 24 hours.
  • Store container under normal room temperature conditions.
  • Once opened, use contents within 3 weeks.
