Preparation

 

Directions for Use:

Your baby’s health depends on carefully following these directions. Proper hygiene, preparation and storage are important when using infant formula. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Use as directed by your health care professional.

DO NOT ADD WATER.

DO NOT USE IF BREAKAWAY RING IS MISSING OR BROKEN.
1) Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water.

2) Place washed cups or bottles (if needed), nipples, rings, caps and all preparation equipment in boiling water and keep at a rolling boil for 2 minutes.

3) Shake bottle well and twist off cap.

4) If using the Similac® bottle: Attach sterilized nipple. If using a different feeding container: Pour formula into cups or bottles. If there is formula remaining in the Similac® bottle, recap, refrigerate and use within 48 hours.

5) Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.

WARNING: Do not use this container to warm formula. Never use a microwave oven to warm formula; serious burns can result. Test temperature before feeding to avoid scalding the infant’s mouth.

Storage

  • Store unopened bottles under normal room temperature conditions; avoid extreme temperatures. Cover opened or prepared bottles/cups, refrigerate and use within 48 hours. Do not reuse the Similac® bottle.
